14 Nov We celebrate the women of the past and look toward what will be achieved in the future
New Space Economy European Expoforum will explore the opportunities for women in the aerospace industry and relative issues thanks to a special session, «Woman in New Space», set up by WIA-Europe on December 11 from 17.00 to 18.00.
Founded in June 2009 by Simonetta di Pippo, currently UNOOSA’s Director, and Claudia Kessler, former CEO of HESPACE, WIA-E is an international association dedicated to expand leadership opportunities, to increase the visibility of women in the aerospace sector and to engage young girls in STEM disciplines.
The session will gather speakers from space agencies, industries and international institutions to give their views on:
- opportunities and challenges in «New Space», from scientific, technological and economic point of view;
- the role of Diversity and Inclusiveness (D&I) in the evolution of the space sector with an increased number of space actors around the world, from public to private, from local to global, from academia to citizens;
- the importance to partnering with space faring nations and private space, and no-space, firms for achieving socio-economic impacts and global challenges.
In line with WIA-E strategy and vision, the round table aims also to address the importance of space to achieve some of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
