Alberto Viseras is a researcher at the Institute of Communications and Navigation at the German Aerospace Center (DLR). He leads a research line on reinforcement learning methods for multi-robot exploration, with a special focus on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) or drones. He received his PhD in 2018 from the University Pablo de Olavide in Seville, Spain. During his PhD he carried out a research stay at the University of Sydney, where he investigated algorithms for the coordination of multiple aerial gliders. He currently leads drones’ efforts in HEIMDALL project. His focus in HEIMDALL is the detection of forest fire hotspots using a swarm of drones.
